ABEC Reduced-Rate Loans

ABEC can help your church develop a plan to build responsibly and obtain financing.
Some of the important steps involved are:
     1. Seeking God's Leadership in Your Mission and Ministries.
     2. Discovering the Nature of Your Community.
     3. Determining Your Resources.
     4. Seeking Assistance from Design Professionals.
     5. Contracting with a Reputable, Bondable Contractor.
Building wisely demands a thorough understanding of your church and the factors that affect your ministries. Based on the experiences of many other churches, we will help you obtain that understanding.
An ABEC representative can meet with your congregation's building planning group. Guidelines for many planning areas will be given, including identifying congregational and community needs, determining ministry goals, selecting an architect and developing a budget.

First Baptist Church Oregon City worships in an historic town near the end of the Oregon trail. They have been an active investor with ABEC. Funds that they have invested have been used for loans to help other churches build, renovate and become accessible and energy efficient.

FBC has also been an active investor with ABEC. Since 1991, ABEC has provided three loans for repairs and improvements to the graceful brick edifice. The church went up in 1847, and much needed work to be done. The funds were used to replace windows, put new roofs on the church and parsonage, repair and seal the exterior stucco, and replace four furnaces-all of which make the church a comfortable haven for feeding the soul.
The church has developed a much needed program for feeding the hungry as well. Its emergency food ministry, H.O.P.E (Helping Other People Eat) truly brings hope to the homeless and hungry in the community. ABEC is blessed to have been with FBC over the years as they minister to the least of these.
